I need to start by saying sorry for not blogging in ages! We’ve been very busy (which can only be a good thing!)
I was talking with a friend of mine the other day, he’s the Sales Director for a reasonably large business who have their main head office in Germany. We were talking about making sure your customers know about you and he had just submitted a review about his company to his boss – in it, he’d mentioned that they never seem to do any kind of press releases. This was taken as a negative comment and the company owners got very defensive until he explained that what he was trying to say was that everyone in the company knows they’re good at what they do…. So why don’t they tell anyone…
This is a mistake that so many companies make. If you have a good product or provide a good service you should be proud of that fact and not hesitate to tell as many people as you can. If you don’t, how will they know?
It doesn’t have to be hard. Spend 2 minutes now, thinking about something good your company has done in the last week or so. New system launched? New employee? New client won? Or maybe you have something new coming soon, a new product perhaps? If you have something which you find exciting then you should be shouting about it.
Always remember though – if you do this, make sure you have a method in place to track the success. So if you’re trying to push something on your website – make sure you monitor it! Google Analytics is your best and easiest bet!
