Here comes the snow… Maybe.

November 25th, 2010 No comments

It’s getting cold again now. I know that because my heating bill has gone through the roof and my car needs about half an hour each morning before I can see through the windscreen. It’s also dark all the time. I leave my house when it’s dark and I get home when it’s dark. I don’t suffer from SAD though… People tell me I’m grumpy all year round… Which is nice.

July 20th, 2010 No comments

So it’s here. At last! FileMaker Pro has hit the various iThings! We’ve been looking forward to this for sometime now and we’ve finally got our hands on a copy of FileMaker Go. In typical fashion we’ve also already started developing on it for a client as well as the guys in the office playing with it for themselves!

So… I actually have to write stuff then?….

May 17th, 2010 No comments

I’ll be honest. I’m not that good at this blogging thing. For two reasons mainly – first, I’m just not that good a writer. And second, I don’t seem to have any free time… Ever…

I don’t like change!!!!

March 1st, 2010 No comments

As a rule, a lot of people don’t like change. They get comfortable with the way things are and don’t want it to change. That’s ok. I understand that, I’ve been guilty of that feeling more than once. You get your life how you like it and don’t want anything to shake the delicate balance you’ve built up. But if you’re honest, it’s normally some huge and often unexpected or unwanted changes that can bring the best things in life. This can also apply to business.

FileMaker 10 Certified!

June 1st, 2009 No comments

A quick, and if we’re honest, slightly ego based one today.

Now, anyone involved in the FileMaker community will be aware that a few months back FileMaker 10 was released. Well, today we received conformation that our development director, Paul de Halle, has become one of the first developers in the UK to be FileMaker 10 Certified. And, to be honest, we’re all rather proud!

What are you waiting for???

May 7th, 2009 No comments

Just do it!

You know, as I write this now, things are good. I feel very satisfied with myself. You see, I had a number of things I needed to do this week. A mixture of urgent, important and the ones that I couldn’t be bothered to do and had been putting off for as long as possible. We all have them! So, I decided to get my head down and not look up until I had crossed one thing off from each category. Seemed simple enough.

April 30th, 2009 1 comment

I know what you’re thinking…. He’s done this one…. and it was boring then as well! But fear ye not – while I am going to talk a bit about twitter – while shamelessly plugging my own twitter.… – there is actually a point to this as well.

Business networking events – any good?

April 16th, 2009 No comments

Just a short one today.

I’ve just come out of a meeting and one of the things which came up was Business networking – more specifically the networking meetings you always see the email ads for. The main point of the conversation was, do they actually work?
